WOW!!!!
This is it folks, an authentic "Jambette" knife found in St.Etienne, France and dating to the 18th century. The mark on the blade is almost erased, and you can read "PRA", then a period , after which the marking is illegible. The mark is spread out over two lines and is surrounded by a rectangular framing. The handle is out of boxwood and measurement 12 cm closed. This is definitely a museum quality knife. Just a quick note: the owner had told me that this knife was over cleaned by the previous owner and that the original patina was somewhat lost. Nonetheless, this is still one of the nicest "jambettes" I've ever seen. (C.L. collection, France) *Permission giving by owner to publish pictures.
